E-Learning at UNISWA

The University of Swaziland (UNISWA) is currently experimenting with E-learning through the Moodle platform. I am facilitating five courses in the area of instructional design, delivery systems and methods and skills. The courses are in the Department of Adult Education and the Institute of Distance Education (IDE).

I am still learning to design/create the courses. Any sample courses in the above areas will be highly appreciated. Students in the above programmes are part-time learners or distant learners. Most of them are adults and are employed or self-employed. At the moment the biggest challenge is accessibility to the Internet. Some try to use wireless connections but is too expensive.

Learners taking an Online Test

Recently our Diploma students (Adult Education) took an Online test on campus. It was the first time and the students were very excited. Next academic year I will introduce online projects for the year 5 (B.Ed) Adult Education. I would like for them to create wiki pages, blogs as well as create portfolios. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
